Charcoal Drawings

Charcoal drawings feature charcoal and compressed charcoal on Fabriano paper. Using charcoal for me falls somewhere between painting and drawing, as you can move charcoal around. This helps me to produce the movement that I want to achieve in my work. Compressed charcoal produces the rich dark black that ordinary charcoal cannot. Using a combination of both types of charcoal enables me to produce more contrast in my work.
